If passed, Proposition A would not increase the district finances on the average district home valued at $323,506 in Wylie ISD. This is partly thanks to the new state compression savings and $100,000 homestead exemption. Homeowners with an average-priced home in Wylie ISD would still see savings of $307 annually or $25.58 monthly on current-year taxes.

If passed, Proposition B would not have a financial impact on the average district home valued at $323,506 in Wylie ISD.

If passed, Proposition C would not have a financial impact on the average district home valued at $323,506 in Wylie ISD.

Current homeowners ages 65 and over will not be impacted by the passage of this bond. Their school taxes will not go above the frozen levy amount/ceiling that was established when the Over-65 exemption was granted (unless improvements or additions are made to the residence). To have your school taxes frozen, you must file a homestead application with the appropriate appraisal district and be granted the Over-65 exemption.

Listen to Gary Earnest, Taylor County County Tax Assessor Collector, explaining how the bond proposal has zero impact on homeowners age 65 and older or disabled who have applied for and received the homestead exemption through the County Appraisal District.
